Ambisonics Summer School 2017
Right after the ICSA in Graz, the IEM offers continuing education courses to professionals and students through its Ambisonics Summer School. The Summer School illustrates technical and psychoacoustic principles in Ambisonics.
Moreover, it provides an opportunity to broaden the newly acquired knowledge in three workshop sessions:
Ambisonic Recording and Production:
Recording with first-order and higher-order microphones, in combinations with spot microphones and practical uses of software in post-production.
Do-It-Yourself Head Tracker and dynamic binaural synthesis in Ambisonics:
Assembly of a compact plug-and-play tracker for real-time gesture control and head-tracking as a portable USB Midi; use of DAWs for binaural synthesis and controlling spatialization parameters.
Spatialization using Cubical and Icosahedral Loudspeaker Arrays:
Beamforming with compact spherical loudspeaker arrays, efficient activation thereof as well as use in spatialization for distance and movement paths, discussion of the three-dimensional sounds perceived.
